I'm looking at syntax 3-1 where it lists:

    integer_atom_type ::= byte | shortint | int | longint | integer

    integer_vector_type ::= bit | logic | reg

This is backward. bit, logic, and reg are the "atom" types, while byte,
shortint, etc, are the vector types.
