It has come to my attention that some of you are not aware of updated
versions of 1364-2001 which are now available.
Some background:
1364-2001 (commonly called Verilog-2001) Version A was originally
published in Sept. 2001. Unfortunately, that version had severe publishing
problems resulting in garbled formatting and fonts. In addition, there
were typographical and editorial errors as well as some technical errors.
A new version, Version B, was prepared which corrected a large number of
these problems. However, its publication and distribution was
unfortunately delayed until May 2003.
Now, we have prepared and published Version C, which corrects all known
remaining editorial errors in Version B.
Therefore, Versions A and B should no longer be used and should be
destroyed, not for legal reasons, but because they are out of date.
In addition, an errata document has been prepared which contains technical
corrections. This errata document is valid for both Versions B and C.
Version C is available from the IEEE online.
I don't know whether printed hardcopy versions are already available.
The errata document can be obtained from
http://standards.ieee.org/reading/ieee/updates/errata/1364-2001.pdf
However, the best version of 1364-2001 available is actually called
"P1364-2005/D3", a draft of a new revision of the IEEE 1364 standard.
It incorporates everything in 1364-2001 Version C + the errata document
+ additional corrections + clarifications. It does not yet incorporate any
new functionality beyond what is in 1364-2001. You can get it from
http://www.boyd.com/1364
Sincerely,
Shalom Bresticker
