Greetings one and all,

I have updated the web site to include the 1 hour meetings we have added
interspersed between our current two hour meetings. I did notice that Feb.
17th is a holiday over here and have removed it.

The meeting on January 21st will be held at the Synopsys site (following
address):

Synopsys, Inc.
300 East Middlefield Rd
Building B, Diamond Conference Room
Mountain View, CA 94043

The meeting is scheduled to go from 9:00am until 4:00pm with lunch provided.

As a review, this is the list of items we still have to cover before we are
complete:

 1. Chapter 4
    Sections 6 through 12
        Associative and dynamic arrays
 2. Chapter 7
    Section 3 (increment/decrement)
    Section 5 (Wild equality/inequality)
    Section 10 (String concatenation)
 3. Chapter 8
    Section 4.2 (enhanced for loop)
    Section 7 (Process statement)
 4. Chapter 9
Section 1 (introduction - fork join and process control)
    Section 6 (Dynamic Processes)
    Section 7 (fork...join)
    Section 9 (Process control)
 5. Chapter 10
Section 1 (introduction - argument enhancements)
    Section 3.2 (discarding return values)
    Section 4 (Task/Function scope & lifetime)
Section 5 (Task and Argument function passing)
 6. Chapter 11 (Classes)
 7. Chapter 12 (Inter-Process Synchronization and Communication)
 8. Chapter 13 (Clocking Domains)
 9. Chapter 14 (Signal Operations)
10. Chapter 15 (Program Block)
11. Annex C (String Methods)
12. Annex D (Linked Lists)

From this list I think that associative/dynamic arrays and
fork..join/process control are the major areas of discussion. I would like
to try and get through Chapter 9 before the meeting on the 21st. I would
like to focus the next meeting on Chapter 4 and Chapter 9. Before the
meeting on the 21stI would like any issues with chapters 7, 8, and 10 to be
discussed and reviewed on line.

At the meeting on the 21st I would like to organize the discussion as
follows:

9:00 - 10:30 classes
10:45 - 12:00 IP Synch/Communication
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch
1:00 - 2:00 Clocking Domains
2:15 - 4:00 Signal Operations and Program Block

Is this agressive? Sure. Please plan to come with your issues prepared and
your solutions defined.

If we can do this (or at least get close) then I think we can handle the
string methods, linked lists, clean-up of chapters 7 and 8 (plus other left
overs) in remaining phone meetings.

Please respond with your thoughts (preferable suggestions for improvement as
opposed to crucifixion).

Regards
David
