We've been working on Mantis 2476, which (among other issues) points out that we never clearly define the argument type for the expressions passed into $onehot() and similar functions. We want to basically say that any bit-stream type can be used, and is treated as if flattened into a vector. Does the description below sound precise & correct to you, or is there a better way to phrase it?:
The expression argument to the above functions shall be of a bit-stream type . For the purposes of calculating the return value, the argument is treated as a vector of equal size assigned from {>>expression} (see 11.4.14).
