There will be a meeting of the P1800-2012 Ballot Resolution Technical Committee (TC) on May 21st, 2012 at 9:00am PDT. Attendance is restricted to those with representation on the P1800-2012 Working Group (WG) as well as those appointed by the WG. Currently, the plan is for the TC to meet every other Monday through the end of July with the exception of no meeting on July 2nd. New voting rights will be established on the May 21st meeting, using the by-laws set up by the P1800 WG. If you wish to participate in this committee please contact the WG chair, Karen_l_pieper@yahoo.com<mailto:Karen_l_pieper@yahoo.com>, to be placed on the TC's sv-xc@eda.org<mailto:sv-xc@eda.org> e-mail reflector. Conference call numbers will follow shortly on the TC reflector.
The purpose of this committee is to resolve the 61 comments received by the WG during the first ballot. Under IEEE rules, the TC is authorized to provide a response to these comments and no other new issues. The response can be to implement a change to the LRM, express that no change is required, or express that the change is beyond the constraints of the current PAR. Purely editorial comments may be brought to the editor's attention at any time. A spreadsheet containing the list of comments is attached. A few comments are listed as not requiring a response, but in the past, the WG has responded to all comments.
Previous ballots of the 1800 LRM received many more comments (>200). In a first pass review of the P1800-2012 ballot comments, 21 of them are purely editorial and can be handled by the editor directly. Another 4 are considered duplicates, leaving 36 comments to be resolved. These comments have all been entered into the Mantis system retrievable at: http://tinyurl.com/6pnro9k (target version P1800-2012/D6 Recirc).
Given the low number of comments, the WG decided to have only one committee resolve these 36 comments instead of the usual 4 technical sub-committees and eliminate the extra champions' committee review process. If needed, the TC may create sub-committees to resolve certain comments requiring longer discussions. The existing SV-AC/BC/CC/EC reflectors may and should be used presently to discuss individual comments and their associated Mantis proposals.
