I received (and corrected) very minor changes to the posted minutes of the February 6, 2006 meeting: http://www.eda.org/sv-bc/minutes/sv-bc_06_02_06.txt These changes were related to my capture of comments and not with the approved wording of the official response. Therefore, the SV-BC's response to the P1800's question of pursuing the merge of the 1364 & 1800 LRMs is as follows: (NOTE: All eligible voters approved with exceptions noted below) 1) The SV-BC committee supports the merge of P1800 & 1364 standards if a first draft is completed by an editor and the commitee has at least 1 year before the cut-off date for changes to the next revision of the standard to review it. Opposed: Karen - Poor use of Karen's time and does not benefit her users Brad - Poor use of Brad's time and does not benefit his users Abstain: Shalom - Not a good use of committee's time 2) The SV-BC requests that the next revision of the LRM be completed, balloted and approved by the end of 2008. Abstain: Mark - Prefers scope of work determine deadline, not deadline determine scope of work. Logie - would prefer to define goal before setting deadline 3) SV-BC requests an editor throughout the process, would like a updated draft LRM with changes applied every 6 months and a mechanism for regularly communicating proposed changes to the public every 6 months.
