As a user, tool-specific behavior is an evil which I try to avoid as much as possible, in order that my code be as portable as possible. That is one of the reasons (though not the only one) that SV-Testbench use has grown so far much faster and much more than SV-Design. In order for SV-Design to work, every tool in your design flow that reads RTL must support it. For SV-Testbench, you don't need much more than your simulator.
