[copied to BC, since it clearly trespasses somewhat on their territory] There has been a recent email thread on SV-EC concerning queues, their status (or not) as unpacked arrays, and the queue-concatenation syntax described by example in draft 4 clause 7.11.1. See http://www.eda-stds.org/sv-ec/hm/5166.html and follow-ups. Would there be any strong objection if I were to extend the scope of Mantis 1702 to clarify that a queue is a fully-fledged unpacked array? If that's acceptable to all, I can trawl through the LRM looking for relevant text that needs alteration or clarification, and include such changes in the 1702 proposal. Personally, I think it would be very helpful to have queues be full members of the unpacked-array club. -- Jonathan Bromley, Consultant DOULOS - Developing Design Know-how VHDL * Verilog * SystemC * e * Perl * Tcl/Tk * Project Services Doulos Ltd.
