Vassilios,

I think--or at least, I hope--that you have made an error in your response
to Dave Kelf regarding the termination of the Verilog++ committee.

The vote at the 5 July 2002 Verilog++ meeting was to create SUBCOMMITTEES
of the Verilog++ committee. I feel very strongly that:

a) Changing the subcommittees to full Accellera committees would be a
blatant violation of what was voted on and approved. This change would
require a vote and approval by both the Verilog++ committee members and the
full Accellera board (refer to Accellera's official rules for Accellera
Committees).

b) A subcommittee cannot exist without its parent committee. Since it was
SUB committees that were formed by official vote, killing the parent
committee would automatically kill its subcommittees--all of them. That
would end Accellera's efforts to refine and enhance SystemVerilog before
turning SystemVerilog over to the IEEE 1364 standards group.

I hope it is not your intent to terminate the Verilog++ committee. That is
the one and only full Accellera committee of which I, as an IEEE 1364
standards group member, am a participant.

Stuart
