Sorry, I still don't understand.
 
This mail thread referred to defining a text macro with a name identical
to one of the special character sequences. Mantis 1537 talked about
something different, using a `` within an escaped identifier inside a
macro.
 
Those are not the same subject.

the macro, not the macro identifier.

	 

	His modified example IS part of the dilemma described in 1537:
you can't have the functionality defined in the draft LRM AND also have
