Stuart and Michael - All of our discourse here is
captured on www.eda.org/vlog-pp directory area under:
http://www.eda.org/vlog-pp/hm/
in hypermail format.
I appreciate that a natural place for such documents to
originate from would be Stuart's homesite. However, a
natural place to consider storing them on for our longer
term retreival is down on www.eda.org/vlog-pp, with the
help of mailto:owner-vlog-pp@eda.org (Vassilous?). There
is also a mechanism one can set up so that access is only via
a password.
As we get more of these documents coming from a variety of
authors and commentors, it may be better to migrate/consolidate
them down on that eda.org area.
Also, WRT to retrieving the .PDFs for viewing in Netscape or
Internet Explorer, I seen both those browswers end up with an
empty Adobe Acrobat reader/viewer. I believe the problem was
that the default onsite area where the browser tries to write
a scratch copy is either not writable (e.g., if the browser is
a network copy) or the default location doesn't exist. Its also
something in that area and can be fixed.
- Also if you try a 2d double click on the .pdf URL, sometimes
it will go ahead and bring up the image.
- Final 'also' - Try from the viewer to open up the .pdf from
your local 'temp' area - its generally there on your machine
somewhere.
The above remarks I believe may at times apply to both Win PCs
and UNIX browser attempts to bring up the .pdfs.
The thing to watch for is - was there a PAUSE while the .pdf
was loaded? If so, its there on your machine someplace. When
you find it, you'll probably also have a good guess as to why
it went there, and can go cure it in your IE options or Netscape
preferences.
Hope this helps...
Regards,
