Hi, All -
Someone is scheduled to come work on my house this morning so I am not sure
if I will be on the full conference call or not. I am trying to re-schedule
the work to later or another day.
I do have a few comments concerning the BNF below and hope to join the
conference call at least part of the time.
Regards - Cliff
Concerning the BNF Formal Syntax
"Keywords and punctuation are in bold and enclosed in single quotes."
The Verilog BNF did not include the extra distracting single quotes. I
propose that we follow the example of the Verilog-1995 and Verilog-2001
Standards and remove the single quotes.
Even though color printing is not permitted in the final document, for
review purposes, I further suggest that all keywords be bold and the color
red. This is easy to do in Framemaker documents by defining a "keyword"
font with the color red that can be easily be replaced by the color black
before the final document is released.
The red-bold keyword font made it very easy to review the BNF for the
Verilog Standard, especially as it pertained to commas (,), periods(.)
parentheses and brackets(()[]{}) which are often difficult to determine
whether or not they are bold or whether or not they are key-tokens.
The extra single quotes are a significant distraction in the BNF. I believe
they should be removed.
