David Smith is in Synopsys and it is Synopsys who is interested in making a
donation.
So as not to be seen as there being any misuse of the committee chairmans
power I suggest that it is not a good idea for this appointment to be made
as indicated below.
I would strongly recommend that the chair was a non EDA vendor, non
potential donating company - then there can be no suggestion whatever that
there is any collusion or foul play.
I believe Accellera has to be whiter than white when it comes to such issues.
My recommendation would be to attract one of the IEEE members to this very
important and key position.
