I vote against 1747. I don't oppose the concept but don't like the form of the proposal. I'd prefer to have something like `default_porttype and simply claim that it takes precedence over `default_nettype if both are present. The implied "none" for non-ports when we have "`default_nettype ports_only wire" is bound to be confusing. I vote in favor of the rest with 3 friendly suggestions below. I would approve the items anyways, but I think the suggestions help. Approve 699 with a friendly suggestion to change the blue "in which case" to just "then" since the proposed text doesn't read very well in the full sentence. Approve 907 with a friendly suggestion to change the term "default value" to just "default" throughout. This is less confusing when thinking about type parameter defaults which are not "values". Approve 1949 with a friendly suggestion to add a note to the editor regarding the red tick mark to make sure that part of the change isn't missed. Gord.
