Subject: SV-Basic and SV-Enhancements Subcommittee Meetings Scheduled

Hi, All -
David Smith and I have received requests from many of you to participate on
the SV-Basic and SV-Enhancements Subcommittees. For the next couple of
weeks, while David and I are organizing the email reflectors, etc., for our
respective subcommittees, we will send messages to the SystemVerilog
reflector and later transition to more focused email reflectors.
David Smith and I are going to hold a joint introductory organizational
meeting for the SV-Basic and SV-Enhancements Subcommittees on Friday, June
28th from 9-11 AM PDT.
Call-in details will be sent out later by David Smith.
This meeting is being called on semi-short notice and on a day other than
Monday, which means Stu Sutherland may not be available to attend. As such,
this meeting will not count towards voting status and it will only be used
to organize the subcommittees better and to start taking volunteers to
champion the various topics assigned to the two subcommittees. No binding
votes will be taken at this meeting.
Another meeting for each subcommittee will subsequently be held on Monday,
July 8th. The SV-Basic subcommittee will be held from 9-11 AM PDT and the
SV-Enhancements subcommittee will be held from 11 AM - 1:00 PM PDT. David
and I recognize that most of these subcommittee members will probably want
to participate in both subcommittees (ourselves included) so we are going
to try to schedule our meetings so that all interested parties can attend
both meetings if desired.
Dennis Brophy and Vassilios Gerousis have taken the action item to address
exact committee organization policies and voting issues with the Accellera
Board of Directors. We are proceeding with subcommittee work under the
assumption that these organizational issues can be adequately resolved in
the near future.
